Matthew is the newest member of the NGB team, he joined the business after doing an intensive course at prestigious Sovereign barbering academy in Edinburgh before doing a period as an apprentice at NGB.

 

​'I was always very experiemental with the styling of my hair as a teenager but never considered it as a career path untill the pandemic gave me a chance to stop and evaluate what I was doing with my life and career paths, leading me to the simple question, if you had to do one job day in day out for the rest of your life, what would you enjoy and be genuinely passionate about ?'​

Matthew uprooted his entire life, leaving his family and friends in the Shetland Isles for the opportunity to become a barber with no gurantee of a job or connections in the industry he has gone from stacking shelves at Tesco to a fully competent barber in less than a year ​Under the mentorship of Keiran, Matthew has grown in his role from humble apprentice to full time member of staff at NGB with the ability to take on a variety of haircuts to give you the style you want.​​​
